English as a Second Language
Caroline House offers an intensive ESL program with various levels of instruction. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 1:30 PM and follow the Bridgeport Public Schools calendar. Lessons help women learn to read, write, and speak English in a supportive classroom environment. Each day includes one hour of computer instruction when students learn typing, basic word processing and use of English-language learning programs.
Caroline House has part-time ESL classes to accommodate the different work schedules, family demands, and learning levels of women. We have introductory to advanced levels of English education. Basic English is offered for women needing pre-literacy instruction before starting level 1 ESL. The advanced classes focus on English conversation and writing skills.
