Sister Peg shines a bright light at Caroline House. With care and heartfelt concern, Sister Peg teaches, mentors, and helps women, children, and families. She shares in their joys and is with them through their hardships and challenges.
Sister Peg has touched the lives of so many - volunteers, staff, board members, benefactors, and partners - who share Sister Peg's passion for education and social justice and who have experienced her energy, dedication, and warm spirit.
As Sister Peg looks ahead, she says, "Part of my heart will always be at Caroline House." In her future ministry she is planning to help individuals and families with immigration procedures. She also hopes to expand English-language classes in the Norwalk area.
"A generosity of spirit and genuine concern for every person who walks in the door..."
Sister Grace D'Amico, SSND, Board Chair of Caroline House, expressed gratitude to Sister Peg:
During her six-year tenure as Executive Director, Sister Peg has enhanced Caroline House in so many ways-the building has been expanded; more programs are being offered; the number of women and children attending has grown-to name a few.
Sister Peg's clear vision, her profound sense of mission, and her servant leadership have brought Caroline House to a new level, positioned for even greater success as we move into our 22nd year of 'enabling women and children to reach the fullness of their potential through education in English language and life skills.'
The Board of Directors and School Sisters of Notre Dame, who sponsor Caroline House, are very grateful to Sister Peg for her dedication and tireless efforts, and we wish her well in her new ministry. At the same time, we are committed to selecting a new executive director who will build on Sister Peg's excellent work with immigrant women and children who look to Caroline House for education and mutual support in a community atmosphere.
The Board of Directors has formed an executive transition team to work with board members and staff so that the strong and vibrant Caroline House mission will continue. We look forward to sharing updates with you!
