In the fourteen years of
operation, the staff has accomplished the following: • Committed staff (3 full time and 7 part-time positions) to run an education program with on-site childcare, 1 full time Executive Director, 1 part-time Development Director and 1 part-time counselor (10 paid staff members). There are over 50 volunteers who either tutor or provide other help. • Recruited and taught over 800 women from our target population English as a Second Language (ESL), during our fourteen years of operation. • Expanded our program to include instruction in basic computer literacy, keyboarding skills, a wide range of life resource learning programs, and counseling and networking services. • Completed
construction of a $90,000 addition to Caroline House, in the summer
of 1997 to accommodate more participants. We generated sufficient
funds to liquidate the loan for this project and it is now paid
in full. During 2004-05 the third floor was refurbished to accommodate more students. ..................... |

• Recruited a full-time Director of Planning and Development to ensure that Caroline House will be financially solvent, have a yearly balanced budget, and to plan for the future.
• Recruited a qualified Preschool Program Director and Assistants for our preschool development program.
• Recruited
a Counselor/Life Resource Coordinator to ensure that Caroline House is well-linked to existing agencies and services, and to assist women participants, at their point of need to find the proper service provider for difficulties related to domestic violence, etc.
• Collaborate with Sacred Heart University
and Fairfield University by involving the students enrolled in Service Learning
courses as tutors and childcare assistants (15 per semester). • Converted
2 parts of a 3-Car Garage into a Children's Playhouse. • Renovated third floor to add 2 new classrooms for additional space. • Began an after-school tutoring program in January, 2006 with second and third graders from local grammar schools. • Began a summer tutoring program for students not included in local grammar school programs. • Added an additional classroom for the children's program. • Began the Caroline Connection in Wilton, CT for tutoring of Health Care and Kitchen workers in need of English.
